How we calculate

All calculations run in your browser. Each tool includes its formula. Outputs are rounded for display; intermediate calculations retain precision. The COLA calculator applies a simple percentage increase and does not reproduce every SSA benefit or rounding rule.

Sources and updates

The 2027 COLA rate is sourced from SSA’s October 14, 2026 announcement, checked October 20, 2026. Savings and purchasing power tools use assumptions you enter, rather than live rate feeds.
